Safety warning
Arcade and pinball machines can seriously hurt or kill you.
- Monitors (CRTs) run at tens of thousands of volts and can hold a dangerous charge long after they're unplugged. Never work on a monitor unless you know how to safely discharge it.
- Power supplies and wiring carry mains (wall outlet) voltage. Always unplug the machine before working inside it. Turning it off isn't enough.
- Pinball machines have high-voltage circuits for displays, plus coils and moving parts that can cause burns and pinch injuries.
- Cabinets are heavy. Get help moving them, and watch out for tipping.
